Last week, Senator Susan Collins of Maine and Senator Jack Reed of Rhode Island proposed the Coronavirus Economic Relief for Transportation Services Act (CERTS Act, S. 4150). This bill could provide $10 billion in economic relief for the motorcoach industry through funding and grants.
This piece of legislation is the work of the American Bus Association, United Motorcoach Association, and several New England-based motorcoach operators who developed relationships with their senators.
TMS fully supports this bipartisan bill, and we are grateful to our partners for continuing to push for legislation that supports the nearly 3,000 small and family-owned businesses that have been negatively impacted due to COVID-19. Without this financial support, 80% of these small businesses will not make it.
July is the last month we can all work together to save this industry. Please help the motorcoach industry by writing to the White House and Congress and asking them to save these businesses before it’s too late.
