On Thursday, June 11, TMS President Kevin O’Connor participated in a PCMA webinar, Get Creative with Restrictions to Meet Differently, to share how event industry members will keep live events safe and clean in a post-pandemic world. O’Connor was joined on the panel by other event industry leaders, including Jim Russell, SVP of Sales, Freeman Audio Visual Services; Doreen Burse, VP of Global Sales North America, Marriott International; and Kelly Ricker, Executive VP of Events & Education, CompTIA.
O’Connor shared insights on how the TMS team is handling safety and cleaning precautions for clients during COVID-19. “For TMS, our priority is to the safety of our staff, vendors and our clients,” said O’Connor. “Our team factors in the World Health Organization and Centers for Disease Control standards of cleanliness, but we continue to develop our own set of standards, too. For example, we are ensuring our staff has proper personal protective equipment, and that buses practice social distancing and are equipped with hand sanitizer. We are committed to keeping people safe and well during this time.”
Panelists stressed how communication and collaboration are essential for the industry to work through new safety standards, potential staffing issues and COVID-19 specific costs. For more insights from the webinar, take a look at the live tweets.
